Adaptive Clearing supports a few different ordering modes with "Order by area" being the latest addition.
"Order by area" can reduce linking/retracts in the generated toolpath by telling Adaptive Clearing to prefer islands to be machined one at a time. That is, you can avoid the otherwise required linking motion between the islands.
Enabling "Order by area"
You can see the different ordering for the intermediate up-steps in the toolpath. The feature is currently turned off by default because it can increase the calculation time significantly. However, with the new improved multi CPU/core support this impact should be less significant, and we are considering having it turned on by default.
