HSMWorks Distributed CAM Services

The HSMWorks Distributed CAM Services allows HSMWorks to distribute calculations to one or more PC's on the local network.

Using a single powerful HSMWorks CAM Server, multiple "slower" workstations will all benefit from the speed on the central server. Using this setup, the customer can benefit from HSMWorks' multi processor and 64-Bit capabilities without having to upgrade all their CAM workstations.

The second setup allows multiple workstations to share the calculations between them, and as a result speed up calculations for everybody without investing in new or additional PC's.

Utilizing multiple workstations to speed up calculations

The two setups can also be mixed by installing the CAM Service on several high performance workstations and using these to speed up the calculation on older/slower workstations.

It is not required that HSMWorks is installed on systems that are running the CAM service, and the CAM service can be installed on both 32 and 64-bit systems.

HSMWorks Distributed CAM Services will be oficially released with HSMWorks 2010 later this year.

Notice to Beta testers:

If you wish to test the distributed CAM feature you must have a floating license and install the latest HSMWorks developer version along with the CAM service application. The HSMWorks Distributed CAM Services application can be downloaded from the Development Versions download page (look at the bottom of the page).

You must have HSMWorks and the CAM service installed on separate PC's to test it!
