CAM Mania is a competition for SolidWorks users to compete against one another and show if they have what it takes to quickly turn SolidWorks models into machined parts using HSMXpress, the Free CAM Solution for SolidWorks.

The concept is simple, CAM Mania starts by having users create a job setup exactly like they would if they were creating toolpaths for their own machining project. First they select their model, stock, and fixturing. Then they create a work coordinate system and save their new job setup. Next they create and simulate the toolpaths necessary to machine the part. They also create the documents and files necessary to complete the job. Last, they finish off by viewing and back plotting their CNC code in HSMXpress Edit.
This year HSMWorks launches the first ever CAM Mania at SolidWorks World 2012 in San Diego. Located in Booth 313 in the Partner Pavilion, CAM Mania featuring HSMXpress, the competition will run all day Monday and Tuesday during all times the Partner Pavilion is open to attendees. A time limit will be imposed based on the final part selected for the event and users will have time to review the official instructions prior to competing.
